“My eyes are ever on The Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare.” – Psalm 25:15
Keep your focus on The Lord. Not the things of this world, for they are only temporary. When you have your eyes set on Him you are reminded of Whose you are and that nothing else matters.
It’s when you give up all of your control that He can do His work in you. You cannot have one foot for yourself and another for Him. Being lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, He will SPIT YOU OUT!! (Rev. 3:16) You see, you will be locked up until faith happens. In the chains of this world, and only until you give up control and trust in The Lord with 100% of yourself! will he be able to release the snare from your feet.
God wants to do amazing things for us. That we might have life and have it abundantly! (John 10:10) Even when our minds wander throughout the day, and they do, that is OK! Remember The Lord and whisper His name. This will gently bring all things back to Him. Thank you Lord that you never leave us and are always there! (Duet. 31:8)
This is comforting to me. Especially during this season, I am continually straying with thoughts and dwelling on scenarios. It’s important to keep Him in the middle of it all, that our feet stay planted on unshakable ground. And even more so when things are going swell! Do not forget who showers blessings.
Father, we thank and praise you in, during, and through the storms. Nobody promised life would be easy, but with you all things are possible. (Matt. 19:26) Encourage us to keep our eyes on you, Lord, that you may work your will on earth as it is in Heaven. (Matt. 6:10) We know that only YOU can release the snares of this world from our feet. You rescued Paul from prison, where he was bound by chains, and in that saved the guard and his family too! Thank you Lord, you are so so good. In your son, Jesus, Amen.
Parable of the lost coin. The woman lights a lamp, sweeps her house, and searches diligently until she recovers the coin. (Luke 15:8-10) In that time houses were small and windowless. It’s likely that the coin had come from her dowry or headdress, similar to a wedding ring today. Having lost this coin is precious and worth a full day’s wages.
Jesus is speaking to the multitudes of people. A woman can relate to this parable. The woman here is God and the coin is us. How much like this parable is God?! First, our lamps are lit. By God’s light the darkness is broken, we can see. The Holy Spirit (God’s helper) sweeps us clean. We are cleansed of sinful debris. (Titus 3:5) Lastly, He seeks us, saves us, that even if one of us is lost His desire is that we are found. Do you realize that if you were the only lost soul on this planet, God would have still sent His only Son to die for you? Who has goosebumps?!
God is in the Search & Rescue business. We are His lost coins, His treasures. Do this today to help those who are veiled from the Truth (2Cor. 4:3-4). Would you pray a prayer? When you do this, the Lord’s light shines through. He begins a good work in them. Remember to pray often for those who are lost. There will be great rejoicing in Heaven for even one of these who is saved. (Luke 15:10)
“I waited patiently for The Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear The Lord and put their trust in him.” -Psalm 40:1-3
Oh yes have I waited! And still continue to wait on The Lord. You see, waiting isn’t an inactive thing. It’s very active and obedient when you do it eagerly and with expectancy. Expect that The Lord will come through. Know that The Lord will rescue you and lift you up! The Bible doesn’t say “if” or “maybe” it says we can KNOW these things that are His promises to us. (2 Peter 1:4)
You see, I have personally learned what it means to break the cycle of pride. It was one of the biggest hardest lessons I have endured yet. Now I am going through a season of wait and this is perhaps going to be the second biggest lesson I will experience. Nobody ever promised that life in Christ would be without challenge or hardship. If we didn’t experience God’s saving mercies and grace in the hard times how would we be able to overcome them with such joy, to be able to share our experiences with the rest of the world?
Seek him Brothers and Sisters. By His words alone I can promise you that there is hope and freedom. Make sure your bucket isn’t so small that you cannot take in all of the. Widen that bucket! For it’s not up to God how much we receive, but up to us. Don’t let your faith be limited.
There is a simple promise I think somebody out there needs to hear. Our Lord Most High knows I’ve needed to hear it on REPEAT as I’m weathering my own storms in this season.
When you are a child of the Most High, you are sealed forever into eternity with him. That can never be plucked away. (John 10:28) You need to know that The Lord never leaves you. Never! He is always by your side. (Psalm 48:14) There aren’t times when he gets frustrated with you, throws up his heavenly hands, and walks away until you figure things out. No! He’s there, he’s constant. If you are struggling, he’s struggling with you. His answers may seem to steer you towards “Yes” and then take a sharp turn to “No”. Trust in him! For even though it seems what comes first from Satan, rest assure that when it reaches you it has become God’s will for your life. We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him. (Rom. 8:28)
When the clouds of doubt are full of heavy rains. When you are pent up, know that a burst and release is coming. It will happen! The rain will come and it will cleanse you through and through. You will have a new spring (in your step even!).
Do not lose hope dear one. Take this very hard journey with me, dig your heels or work boots in if ‘ya got them’ and hang on!!
